QGOLD V1 enters twelve-month sundown period

Quorium has begun a twelve-month sundown period for QGOLD V1, the gold-pegged token issued under Quorium's first-generation contract. Three things change for existing holders.

First, V1 is no longer peg-maintained. Quorium does not intervene to hold the V1 price at or near the gold price, and the market price is now set entirely by supply and demand.

Second, centralised exchange trading has ended. QGOLD V1 trading on XT.COM and Coinstore has been suspended, with delisting on both venues expected within the coming month. Holders with exchange balances should withdraw to a self-custodied BNB Chain wallet ahead of the delisting dates published by each exchange.

Third, liquidity has moved on-chain. Exchange liquidity has been redeployed to a USDT/QGOLD pool on PancakeSwap V3 on BNB Chain, which is now the venue Quorium supports for V1. Liquidity there is limited and price impact on larger orders will be significant.

Holders of QGOLD V1 will be able to exchange into QGOLD V2. Terms and timing will be published at the launch of V2. The twelve-month period is intended to give holders time to complete that exchange.

QGOLD V2 is a distinct instrument rather than an upgrade. Where V1 was gold-pegged, V2 is a gold-linked digital asset with no peg, no redemption right and no price maintenance mechanism, linked to a dual reserve base by balance-sheet identity.

Full details, including the pool and contract addresses, are on the migration page. Several unaffiliated tokens using the QGOLD name circulate on BNB Chain; holders should verify contract addresses against quorium.io before trading.

V1 to V2 migration strategy largely set

The strategy for the migration from QGOLD V1 to V2 is largely established. The approach covers the transition of V1 from centralized exchange listings to a DEX pool on PancakeSwap, the dissolution of the V1 gold peg, and the five-year voluntary migration window with automatic migration at its close. Full details are available on the Migration page. The next step is confirming the dates.
